The 2022 MATHCOUNTS program year, while trending back toward “normal”, still consisted of an official virtual platform at the Chapter level administered through the Art of Problem Solving website. Fortunately, the State competition was held in person on March 12 at Saginaw Valley State University, as was a “bonus” Chapter competition held on February 11 at the Woodhaven Community Center, which was attended by nine (9) of the twelve (12) registered schools, and 57 total students. The Southeastern Chapter was one of only two (2) Chapters that hosted in-person competitions in 2022, and eleven (11) Chapter members plus two (2) others assisted in running the competition. Four (4) Chapter members also assisted with the State competition.
